Everyone can find fun in Lake Forest. Dad can watch a key tournament in the FedEx Cup at Conway Farms Golf Club while Mom searches for food and decorations at a farmers markets and the kids compete in a scarecrow-making contest. The family can join together for camping or to enjoy the annual Bagpipes & Bonfire. Here’s what’s up this fall:

What it is: Join the 26th annual Bagpipes & Bonfire. Enjoy an afternoon of games, food and Scottish entertainment at the beautiful Middlefork Farm Nature Preserve. The evening culminates with the landing of kilted sky divers, dramatic bagpipes procession and lighting the bonfire.

What it is: The Scarecrow Making Contest is open to any school, youth organization/facility, neighborhood group, family or individual, business or office group. Bring old clothes, hats, any scarecrow accessories and an active imagination. Prizes will be awarded for the funniest, scariest and most likely to succeed.
