McBride’s Pub & Grille, located in Plainfield, offers its customers Irish and American menu items that are cooked to order, and made from fresh local ingredients.

“We are an Irish-American Restaurant. We do have a couple of Irish items, but mostly American bar food,” said owner Tracy Stary. “We try to concentrate on all fresh food. We buy our meat local and all of our vegetables local. Anything we can get local, we buy. Everything is made fresh with nothing frozen, and everything is cooked to order. We try to focus on being a little bit more than just your regular bar food, but we still have bar food prices.”

Mcbride’s also provides live entertainment on a weekly basis.

“We have live entertainment every Thursday, Friday and Saturday,” said Stary. “On Sundays, we have Blues Fest going on. On the last Sunday of every month in June, July and August, it’s like an open microphone night. We have bands or a DJ every weekend.”

Stary, who became owner of the restaurant in August 2011, felt like she would become a good fit as the owner after working at the restaurant for the previous owners.

“Well, it’s been here for 10 years this October, but I actually worked here for five years. We’re actually the third owner,” said Stary. “We bought it last August. It came up and kind of fell in our lap, so we thought we’d jump on board and do it. Since I had worked here for five years before, I felt like I kind of knew a little bit about the scene.”

According to Stary, the food and entertainment offered at McBride’s Pub & Grille has won multiple poll-based honors from a local Website.

“We were voted best for our all-you-can-eat chicken wings,” said Stary. “We were also voted best burger in town, as well as the best place to enjoy entertainment, by”

Stary feels that her involvement with the Joliet Region Chamber will be beneficial to her business by increasing the awareness of her restaurant in the surrounding Joliet area.

“I’m trying to get our name out there as a really great family restaurant during the day, and then great fun at night for the older crowd,” said Stary. “We’re kind of on the outskirts of Joliet. We’re the only bar in Joliet south of I-55, so I’m trying to get our name out there in any way possible, and in any kind of way, shape or form.”
