2007 Highflyer "Centerline" Napa Valley, Red Blend

The Somerston Winery is situated on 1,628 acres of land in the eastern valleys of Napa. While producing estate wine from 200 acres of sustainably farmed vineyards, the Highflyer concept is the project of co-founder, pilot and winemaker Craig Becker.

The Highflyer wines are produced from small family-owned vineyards throughout California where the grapes are perfectly matched with the soils reflecting their regional identity. The "Centerline" Red Blend is composed of Syrah, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Tempranillo and Grenach. It's saturated purple color and aromatics of dark Asian spice suggest a personality similar to a high-powered Cabernet. There is a generous amount of viscous black fruits of mulberry, blackberry and blueberry that are encased in a silky, creamy core. This cuvee is dense and firm with enough sweet fruit and layers to keep your attention for hours.
