2010 La Cana Albarino, Rias Baixas, Spain
From the portfolio of prominent Spanish importer Jorge Ordonez, this Albarino comes from Rias Baixas, in the northwest region of Spain. The Atlantic Ocean influence, along with higher rainfall and sandy soils, allows this region to be well known for white varietals, which over-perform in this climate. Planted in 1966, these old wine vineyards retain their expressive character and charm.
This pale green white wine showcases floral elements of white peach and orange blossom. It is beautiful and precise with honeydew, quince and green apple peel textures that linger on your palate for minutes before ending with an extraordinary freshness.
