Students to speak on relevant issues
Topical speeches: Students at Indiana University Northwest will address a variety of current issues during a speech forum Saturday at Raintree Hall. | Stephanie Dowell~Sun-Times Media
Hear original speeches on social and cultural issues from Indiana University Northwest students at the upcoming Fall Speech Forum on campus Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. until noon in Raintree Hall, Room 102.
Each semester, IU Northwest students enrolled in public-speaking classes compete by delivering speeches on a wide variety of cultural and social issues. The student speakers are responsible for selecting their own topic based on personal interests. Speeches must be five to seven minutes in length or risk disqualification.
A panel of judges chosen from the university and the community score the speeches and the top three students receive plaques.
A reception with refreshments will follow the presentations.
