Positive energy a hallmark of CrossFit’s approach to fitness
It’s not often you find a situation like this: someone forces you out of your comfort zone, encourages you to workout with such intensity that you feel like you might lose your lunch, and after it’s all over, you give him a hug!
That’s exactly what you might experience at CrossFit Resurgence in Naperville, where ex-professional MMA fighter Craig Kaufman puts people of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels through “CrossFit” workouts. Across from Caputos.
“It doesn’t matter who you are or how fit you think you are, CrossFit will elevate your fitness level. That’s what keeps people coming back for more,” Kaufman said. “I can scale workouts down for beginners who get out of breath walking up a flight of stairs. I have been doing CrossFit for three years and I have never stopped getting results.”
Fred Blurton, 60 years old and 250 pounds, came to CrossFit Resurgence just over two months ago. Fred’s goal was to lose weight and get healthy. Fred has lost 35 pounds and been shopping for a new wardrobe. Fred has two words concerning his experience: “I’m addicted!”
A unique characteristic of CFR is the positive energy you feel as soon as you walk in the door. CFR is filled with people who are not afraid to work hard to get results and that is contagious. Kaufman says that while the combination of high intensity exercise and nutrition help is important to CFR success as a new fitness business, what really makes people love CrossFit is the relationships they build.
“We have such a great group, we are truly nothing without our people,” Kaufman said. “Crossfit Resurgence is a place you look forward to going to workout, not dread it like a normal gym.”
For that, Kaufman says, he has his members to thank.
