Diabetes: Self-Management

Learn the latest in diabetes care with an emphasis on the positives. Take the initiative now to control your diabetes and not allow it to control you. The class meets April 1, 6 – 8 pm, April 8 & 15, from 6 – 9 pm in the Valley West Medical Office Building. Registration is required for this program and closes three days before the program date. Know your numbers

KishHealth System enhanced the format of Know Your Numbers to be more focused on you through individual appointments. Individual appointments available March 12 and 28, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Knowing and understanding your numbers is a component vital to good health.

Heart disease and other health issues can be predicted using this information. Join us to learn your numbers and how to decrease your personal risk for disease. Individual appointments include screenings for cholesterol and blood sugar levels, blood pressure, body mass index, waist measurement and education with wellness educator. Control Your Cholesterol

Are you concerned about your cholesterol? Do you understand what affects cholesterol levels? Whether your levels are high or normal, there are lifestyle changes you can make to reduce or maintain healthy cholesterol.

Join Valley West Community Hospital professionals to receive a variety of resources and tools to develop healthy, life-long habits. If you have your cholesterol results, please bring them. This free class is on Monday, March 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Valley West Medical Office Building.

Look Good, Feel Better

Look Good, Feel Better is presented in partnership with the American Cancer Society, Personal Care Products Council Foundation, Professional Beauty Association, and National Cosmetology Association.

This free program teaches beauty techniques to women or girls who are actively undergoing cancer treatment to help combat appearance related side effects of radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.

Come learn tips for skin care, makeup, hair care and wigs. All participants receive a free kit of cosmetics. Look Good, Feel Better is Wednesday, March 20, from 3 to 5 p.m., in the Valley West Medical Office Building. Registration is required for this program and closes three days before the program date.
