Potential buyers are greeted by a flurry of construction activity when they stop by to tour the decorated model at The Enclave at the Reserve at the Merit Club in Libertyville.

After lowering home prices to the upper $400,000s, Merit Homes discovered renewed interest in its elegant ranch and two-story homes, with in increased traffic and sales.

Currently there are three homes under construction. One of them is the well-received Forester floor plan, which is in the drywall stage of construction. Jeri Szatko, director of sales and marketing, is conducting guided tours so that visitors can walk.

With only 10 premium sites remaining, the opportunity to own a home in this gated semi-custom home community in an award-winning established neighborhood is dwindling, according to Szatko. Beautiful mature trees cover four of the sites, while two others back up to a heavily wooded area or the famed Merit Club Golf Course.

Since The Enclave is a low maintenance community, empty-nesters and snowbirds who want to either relax or close their doors and have everything taken care of, appreciate the carefree lifestyle.

“Our owners enjoy leisure time with their families and friends pursuing pleasurable activities, rather than keeping up their homes,” said Szatko.

With 1,800 to 2,900 square feet, homes at The Enclave have two to three bedrooms and up to 3½ baths, and are priced from $494,900 to $625,900. Full customization is offered so buyers start with a plan and can change the footprint of the house and eliminate or add rooms. They can select from the same finish level as a custom home buyer.

“To increase the value of our homes, we provide upgraded inclusions that exceed industry standards,” said Szatko.

Every home is distinguished with upgraded luxury features such as site-stained oak flooring, Kohler fixtures, maple, oak, cherry, and alder cabinets, granite countertops, all major appliances, full masonry fireplace, extensive trim details, Pella wood windows, cedar shake roofs, and zoned temperature control.

Homeowners enjoy the resort-like setting featuring rolling hills, mature trees and scenic protected views. Some of the new homes overlook the fairways of the Merit Club, an 18-hole private golf course that is ranked as one of the top 100 courses in the world.

“When creating this exceptional community, homes were designed to take advantage of the spectacular views and cater to those who want to be surrounded by natural beauty and improve their quality of life,” said Szatko.

Dubbed the “most beautiful community in Lake County,” the landscape consists of picturesque greens and gently rolling hills, pristine prairies, magnificent rock gardens and sparkling ponds.

Equally important, Merit Homes guarantees its buyers that the natural setting will remain a conservation area forever. Homebuyers understand that there will be no future development because the site is protected by a conservation easement.

The Enclave is part of a gated community called the Reserve at the Merit Club, which is comprised of 102 semi-custom homes and 26 one-acre custom homes on 100 acres of rolling land. Honored with the “Best Overall Community” award from the Home Builders Association, the community was recognized for excellence in design and construction.

To visit the community, take Interstate 94 to Route 137, go west to Route 21 (Milwaukee Avenue), then north 1½ miles to entrance. Follow signs to the Sales center, open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Tuesday through Thursday. Call (847) 680-0090 or visit merithomes.net.
