The village of Burr Ridge was recently ranked second on a list of 955 Midwestern communities in 12 states for quality of life and favorable living conditions.

The Business Journal published their findings on Dec. 7, 2011, in their On Numbers column, after using a “20-part formula to find Midwestern communities that enjoy healthy economies, light traffic, moderate costs of living, impressive housing stocks and strong educational systems.”

This accolade confirmed the belief of many area residents that they live in the ideal place in the Chicago metropolitan area and reinforced the desire of long-time residents to remain in Burr Ridge when they downsize.

Until recently, options for those who no longer needed all the space in their homes and sought a maintenance-free lifestyle in walking distance to many conveniences were extremely limited.

The Residences at Burr Ridge Village Center fill a void, and buyers know it.

Offering homeowners a maintenance-free lifestyle on a single level that is walking distance from shopping, dining and more and located just off of Interstate 55 at County Line Road, the residential buildings are situated in the heart of the bustling Burr Ridge Village Center.

Within the center are a variety of well-known shops, as well as several dining options, that are mere feet from the residences. Cooper’s Hawk Winery features handcrafted wines paired with delicious appetizers and entrees, while Topaz Café was recently selected as one of the prestigious Michelin Guide’s Recommended Restaurants. A recent addition to the dining scene is the fifth Chicago-area location of Wok n’Fire, which features Pan Asian cuisine from Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, and Japan. Sushi is a specialty at Wok n’Fire, along with creatively prepared soups, salads and sauces. The center also includes a Starbuck’s for a daily caffeine fix.

Another area destination within Burr Ridge Village Center is the Kohler Waters Spa, one of only three such spas in the world. Chicago Magazine touted it as ideal for an all-day retreat that offers a “serene, hydrating experience.”

Convenient to Burr Ridge Village Center is a Lifetime Fitness Club, with state-of-the-art equipment, indoor and outdoor pools, a yoga studio, classes and other fitness opportunities. The Burr Ridge Community Center and Hinsdale Center for the Arts are right down the road, while the Metra station is also only a few minutes’ drive.

“The location of this luxury community is ideal, affording our buyers quick and easy access to downtown Chicago, both airports, and most major expressways while allowing them to enjoy the many features and benefits of an affluent ‘urban chic’ maintenance-free lifestyle,” said Marie Jungles, a member of the sales team at Burr Ridge Village Center. “We offer a practical, yet attractive, alternative to living in the city minus traffic congestion and problematic parking.”

Nestled in this ideal location, the Residences at Burr Ridge Village Center have been selling well in recent months. Since the beginning of 2012, there have been 28 sales.

Although the largest group of buyers has been empty-nesters, who would like to remain in the area but want the maintenance-free lifestyle that comes with condo ownership, new residents at Burr Ridge Village Center have come from all backgrounds and demographics. A number of buyers have also been young professionals moving from the city.

The homes themselves are a major part of the allure of living at Burr Ridge Village Center. Quality construction and well-thought-out floor plans are just the beginning. Finishes such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and hardwood floors create elegant living spaces. They are complemented with top-quality fixtures and details.

At least one assigned garage parking space is included with each residence, while larger residences are allotted two spaces. There is also ample outdoor parking for visitors and overnight guests.

All residences also include private, outdoor areas and, while most have roomy balconies, two condos remain with additional space. The last remaining large penthouse available, with over 3,600 square feet, features two balconies. One “green roof” residence, with 2,109 square feet of living space, also includes both a balcony and an oversized patio.

Two-bedrooms at Burr Ridge Village Center start at $249,900, while three-bedrooms start at $459,900.

The sales center, 1000 Village Center Drive, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday. For more information, call (630) 321-1001 or visit BurrRidgeVillageCenter.com.
