Hartz opens new models, showcasing fresh plans

Woodridge Illinois-based Hartz Homes has opened models showcasing new floor plans and new pricing at Whisper Creek, a community of 32 maintenance-free, luxury duplexes in the southwest suburb of Mokena.
“When the market shifts, Hartz Homes has the agility to revise plans and pricing to better reflect current buyers’ needs,” said Leigh Nevers, director of sales and marketing for Hartz Homes. “We invite buyers to take a fresh look at this community and its new plans, new models and $100,000 price reduction.”
Whisper Creek offers two new ranch floor plans ranging from 2,050 to 2,150 square feet. All homes include a full basement, two bedrooms, two baths, den, fireplace, brick exteriors, two-car garage and 9-foot or volume ceilings, per plan. Eat-in kitchens come with stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring, granite countertops, 36-inch cabinets and a preparation island. Home prices begin in the $290,000s.
Buyers can tour models of both new available floor plans: the Ashbury II and the Barclay II.
Priced from $293,900, the Ashbury II features a den and guest suite near the foyer that leads into the combined living spaces at the center of the home, including the living, dining and family room areas with an open kitchen. Three-panel, 9-foot patio doors provide a wall of glass looking onto the back yard and patio from the living and family rooms.
To one side of the living and dining room is the master suite, ifeaturing a tray ceiling and two walk-in closets, and a master bath with his-and-her vanities, separate shower and soaking tub.
The living and dining room also opens into the family room and kitchen that includes an island, breakfast area and pass-through window to the dining room. A fireplace anchors the corner of the living and family room, and a laundry/mudroom connects the kitchen to the home’s front-loading two-car garage.
“Based on feedback from other Hartz plans, we think buyers are really going to respond well to the revised Ashbury II,” said Nevers. “We’ve taken down some walls to create a more open space for the main living areas of the home for better flow into one another. It’s a smart design that works with natural traffic patterns to how people use their home.”
Also available for viewing is the Barclay II floor plan, which is priced from $296,900, including a side-loading, two-car garage.
To one side of the home’s entrance is a den with double doors, a guest bedroom, coat closet and full bath. On the other side of the foyer is the combined living and dining space, leading to the open kitchen with island, breakfast nook and family room, including a corner fireplace.
Toward the back of the home is the master bedroom suite, which features a tray ceiling with his and hers walk-in closets, and a master bath with dual-bowl vanities, a linen closet, separate shower and soaking tub. The Barclay II also has a laundry/mudroom with interior connecting door to the garage.
“Both models showcase a split floor plan with the bedrooms at opposite ends of the home,” said Nevers. “This allows homeowners and their guests to have maximum privacy. It also works well if you have a roommate.”
The Whisper Creek duplexes mark the first phase of development in the community from Hartz Homes, which also will eventually include detached single-family homes. Ten of the duplexes back up to a community pond.
Residents of Whisper Creek will enjoy its location with proximity to the Mokena Metra station, Interstates 80 and 355, as well as easy access to area shopping and dining.
