Some people like to take long weekends to ski or fish, depending on the time of year. Others like to go hunting.
And of course, there’s house hunting. It’s always in season, but right now M/I Homes is offering something that makes this house hunting “season” really special.
For three days — from Friday March 22 through Sunday March 24 — M/I Homes will be offering 60 percent off the price of options, those special features that allow you to design your new home to your own personal tastes.
Of course, every house has cabinets, floors, appliances, landscaping and thousands of other components. But which is right for you?
During the “72-Hour Sale,” buyers will have more flexibility because of the 60 percent price reduction. The sale is available at the following townhome communities:
Briarcliffe, in southwest Lemont, with pricing from $199,990.
Church Street Station, in Hanover Park, with pricing from $159,990.
Mayfair, in west suburban Naperville, with pricing from $203,990.
Savannah Crossing, in Batavia, with pricing from $159,990.
Sheffield Square, in Orland Park, with pricing from $195,990.
Shelburne Crossing, in Winfield, with pricing from $195,990.
Sutton Ridge, in Streamwood, with pricing from $219,990.
Whitmore, in St. Charles, where townhomes are priced from $153,990. Single-family homes priced from $239,990 are also available. All the townhomes have two-car attached garages, and floor plans range from 955 to 2,522 square feet with one to three bedrooms and 1 1/2 to three baths. Two and three-story plans are available. Some plans feature a first-floor master bedroom suite, with the other bedrooms upstairs.
“At M/I Homes we are passionate about design, and this helps people add design features to their homes to reflect their own personalities and lifestyles,” said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for the metro Chicago Division of M/I, a national home building company based in Columbus, Ohio.
The 72- Hour Sale is part of the M/I Homes “Design Matters” program, the company’s initiative to provide excellence in design to home buyers.
As part of this effort, M/I has struck up an alliance with Mary Cook, president of Mary Cook Associates, one of the country’s most prestigious interior design firms. Cook appreciates the M/I emphasis, because, she says, “Design matters because it impacts all aspects of people’s lives.”
Cook praises M/I for “integrating the lifestyle that allows you to live better, fuller lives. There is a human reaction when scale and proportion, and color and pattern and function and livability are all carefully balanced. It feels good, and it feels right to people.”
Thousands of components go into new homes, so attention to detail is important. Cook compliments M/I in this regard, saying, “They’ve also paid special attention to the finishes … the cabinet details, the lighting finishes, the tile details.”
Many of the options, such as countertops, cabinets and appliances are found in kitchens, which usually flow into family rooms, providing what Bonk calls “the heart of the home.”
