Jim Belushi ushered in the one-year anniversary of Rivers Casino in Des Plaines with a no-holds-barred performance as the frontman of House of Blues band the Sacred Hearts. Wearing the Blues Brothers’ trademark sunglasses and a blue paisley blazer, he flashed and flirted his way through a one-hour set, asking the audience, “Are you ready to dance?” and then pulling members on stage for fun-loving antics (a crowd favorite was when he lifted his shirt to rub his tummy during “Three Hundred Pounds of Joy”). Des Plaines Mayor Martin Moylan was among the guests who turned out toast the casino, which has generated more than 1,400 jobs and $129 million in city and state tax revenue since it opened its doors.
