Premier Physical Therapy has specialized and succeeded in treating neuropathy since 2000. With over 10 years of experience, highly trained staff and the latest medical research are employed to establish the neuropathy protocol.

Premier’s neuropathy protocol has the tools needed to give neuropathy patients the relief they have been looking for. It is coupled with a customized plan of treatment, according to a detailed evaluation, to give our patients the successful treatment we are known for.

Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy are tingling, prickling, burning, pain and/or numbness in the feet, legs, and/or hands. It may cause difficulty sleeping, standing for long durations, walking, driving, and balance problems that may lead to falls. The primary cause of neuropathy is poor microcirculation inside the peripheral nerves. In more than half of neuropathy cases, the complications are related to, but not limited to, diabetes, chemotherapy, alcoholism, and AIDS.

To treat neuropathy, we use a safe, painless, and non-invasive infrared therapy (Momochromatic Infrared Energy/MIRE). Light-emitting diodes are applied to the skin on the feet, legs, hands or any other affected part of the body. When the MIRE is applied, the light energy helps to release small molecules of nitric oxide from hemoglobin, which then dilates the blood micro-vessels, aids in nerve function and reduces pain, numbness, tingling, and burning while restoring sensation. Published studies have shown evidence that this therapy is successful in treating the pain, numbness and non-healing wounds that are common with neuropathy.
