Hobart has a lot happening

Diverse opportunities are a great reason to live in or visit the city of Hobart. While Hobart has always maintained its small-town charm, it also features large-city amenities, including: the U.S. 30 retail corridor, a historical downtown, beautiful parks, state-of-the-art medical facilities and everything from thriving, locally owned dining choices to popular chain restaurants.

Residents can enjoy unique affordable housing choices from lakeside bungalows, to quaint established neighborhoods to new construction. Those living in Hobart can expect top-rated schools, great parks and a variety of quality-of-life events.

Seniors can utilize the newly opened Maria Reiner Senior Center which provides a warm, inviting social environment, health and wellness programs, and educational classes. The Hobart YMCA strengthens our community through well-being, fitness, family time, sports and play for people of all ages. Through our strong community organizations that offer spaghetti dinners, chili suppers, dam duck races, concerts in the park and mud volleyball tournaments, they not only raise funds for their organizations but for the betterment of the city. These events are a time to visit with old neighborhood friends and take pride in the community.

In the past few years, the city has focused on special events to highlight what the city has to offer: remote-controlled boat races in Lake George, Movies in the Park, Summer Market in Festival Park on Thursday evenings and the annual four-day Lakefront Festival, to name a few.

Living, working or enjoying, Hobart truly has something to offer everyone.
