3D ConeBeam Imaging is an amazing new technology that creates nearly unlimited views of the face, neck and teeth for more comprehensive treatment planning.

This new technology is extremely useful for dental implants, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJD), orthodontics and more.

Advanced Family Dental & Orthodontics, PC and Dr. David Rubis, general dentist, are proud to add this new technology to the practice.

Benefits of the 3D Cone Beam scan include providing a more complete and accurate diagnosis and therefore more complete and accurate treatment. Patients no longer have to be referred to radiology clinics or travel to specialty offices for 3D scans; they can now visit Advanced Family Dental & Orthodontics, PC, in Crest Hill.

“With a 3D scan, our general dentists and specialists can see problems that might not have been visible on a traditional flat x-ray. We are able to put implants in with more precision compared to using 2D images,” Dr. Rubis said. “It is an excellent technology and we are proud to offer this to our patients.”

While 3D Cone Beam Imaging produces the same kind of high-quality images as a CT scan, it does so with much less radiation. A 3D Cone Beam scan takes seconds and is comparable in radiation dosage to the complete series of individual x-rays on film. It’s fast, simple and completely painless.

“We are using the 3D Cone Beam imaging scans as part of our dental implant consultations, which are complimentary,” Dr. Rubis said.
