Scheirer wins 100 fly for women's swimming at Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS - Sophomore Caitlyn Scheirer (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) won the 100 butterfly in 1:01.19 against Indianapolis for Lewis women's swimming on Saturday (Jan. 28). Indianapolis won the dual meet 100-78.

Freshman Katie Hallenbeck (Plano, Ill./Plano) was second in the 100 butterfly, stopping the clock in 1:01.25.

Junior Angela Cusack (Willow Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) finished second in the 100 freestyle (55.95) and third in the 50 freestyle (25.40).

"Angela swam really well today," Lewis head coach Roger Karns said. "She's been out sick lately but responded well today and I was really happy with her performance."

Saturday was the final dual meet of the season for the Flyers. Next up for the Flyers is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 8-11.
