Drogemuller turned in a pair of NCAA B cuts in a dual meet at Indianapolis on Saturday. He won the 1000 freestyle against the Greyhounds with an NCAA B time of 9:27.06. His time is the best in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season and the fifth in all of NCAA Division II. Drogemuller recorded an NCAA B time of 4:40.37 in a second place finish in the 500 freestyle against the Greyhounds.

Drogemuller's performance in Indianapolis came a day after winning the 1000 freestyle in 9:47.19 against Lincoln.

"This is a great honor for Brandon," Lewis head coach Roger Karns said. "He has dedicated himself to being a top tier athlete and has done a great job of following through with that dedication. It is a recognition he richly deserves. I look forward to his championship season in the coming weeks."

This is Drogemuller's first career national swimmer of the week award. He is the first Flyer to be honored by CollegeSwimming.com since Kevin Coates won the national weekly honor on Feb. 2, 2010.

Lewis is next in action starting Wednesday at the 2012 GLIAC Championships in Jenison, Mich. Drogemuller finished second in the 1650 freestyle and third in the 1000 freestyle last season at the GLIAC Championships.
