Strus, a math major with a minor in secondary education, owns a 3.82 cumulative grade-point-average. He has started all 20 games this season for the Flyers and is averaging 4.3 points and 5.4 rebounds-per-game.

"Marty has been a tremendous ambassador for the Lewis men's basketball team," Lewis head men's basketball coach Scott Trost said. "He has worked hard both on and off the court and it's nice to see him get recognized for his efforts."

Strus, a senior center, now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 4), as they welcome No. 1 ranked and defending national champion Bellarmine to Neil Carey Arena for a 7:30 p.m. (CST) tip-off. The game will be broadcast live on Lakeshore Public Television.
