Freshman Katie Hallenbeck (Plano, Ill./Plano) was sixth in the 200 butterfly (2:10.14). Hallenbeck's 2:09.24 time in the preliminaries was an NCAA B cut. Sophomore Caitlyn Scheirer (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) finished 10th with her time of 2:09.40 in the consolation finals an NCAA B time.

"Caitlin had a great 200," Lewis head coach Roger Karns said. "It was a lifetime best for her."

A pair of freshmen scored points for Lewis in the 200 backstroke. Hallenbeck was 14th (2:10.57). Aubrey Miller (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) was 16th (2:12.69).

Junior Angela Cusack (Willow Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) was 15th with a time of 53.92 in the 100 freestyle. Freshman Kristen Silvey (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge) finished in 16th in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.23).

"The goal for both sides was to score more points than last year," Karns said. "We ended up having a few injuries on the women's side so we didn't meet that goal but the men did. We had great chemistry all week and never stopped supporting each other. All around it was a good meet."

Lewis finished the 2012 GLIAC Championships in eighth place with 178 points.
