Lewis' Lauren Hanford named to All-Tournament Softball First Team

Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University junior right fielder Lauren Hanford (Morris, Ill./Morris) came out of the chutes blazing, as the Morris, Ill., native was named to the MSU-Billings/Desert Stinger All-Tournament First Team, as she batted .500 (5-for-10) with four RBI to lead the Flyers to two wins in the opening weekend of softball action.

Hanford's best performance came against Cal Baptist in the season-opener, as she went 2-for-2, including a bases-loaded triple, in the 5-3 loss.
Lewis (2-3) returns to action in one week, as the Flyers head to St. Cloud, Minn., to participate in the Husky Dome Classic, hosted by St. Cloud State, from February 24-26. Lewis opens tournament action against Jamestown (N.D.) at 7 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 24).
