In a pair of non-conference wins over NJIT and George Mason, Flick racked up a 1.57 blocks-per-set average as well as a pair of digs last week. He also turned in strong offensive numbers, averaging 3.00 kills-per-set while hitting .704 (21-2-27) for the week.

Flick turned in his best performance of the week during the team's five-set win at George Mason on Saturday. He racked up 10 total blocks (one solo and nine assists) and a pair of digs, while adding 13 kills and a .706 (13-1-17) hitting effort against the Patriots. Both his 10 blocks and .706 hitting percentage are single-match highs for a Flyer this season. Of Flick's 10 blocks, four came in the deciding fourth set which Lewis won 15-7.

Flick ranks sixth in the MIVA with a 1.06 blocks-per-set average. He is also hitting .518 on the year with a 1.64 kills-per-set average.

"I couldn't think of a better guy to get it," Lewis head coach Dan Friend said. "He was a big catalyst in our win over George Mason."

The accolade is Flick's first MIVA Player of the Week award of his career. The Flyers have won three MIVA Defensive Player of the Week awards this year and five total MIVA weekly awards.

Lewis ranks No. 7 in the nation. The Flyers are 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the MIVA. Lewis hosts No. 8 Ohio State on Thursday at 7 p.m. The match will be aired live on Lakeshore Public Television.
