Men's and women's cross country earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Status

Romeoville, Ill. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced that both the Lewis University men's and women's cross country teams have achieved Division II All-Academic Team status following the 2011 fall semester.

The men's team totaled a 3.43 cumulative grade-point-average, while the women's squad checked in with a 3.33 cumulative GPA.

"Both teams did a fantastic job of working both hard on the course and in the classroom," Lewis head cross country coach Dana Schwarting said.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have tallied a team score at the NCAA Regional Championships.
