Since 1973, Gurnee Days has provided the Village of Gurnee with a fun, family-oriented weekend of music, events, entertainment for adults and children, delicious food, carnival rides and games as well as a fireworks display. This year, Gurnee Days is celebrating its 41st year with activities for all ages under the 2013 theme “Ahoy Matey.”
The annual Gurnee Days parade — with an outstanding line up of bands, floats, characters and community officials, organizations and businesses — marches down Old Grand Avenue at noon on Sunday.
Gurnee Days brings the entire community together to celebrate the best of what Gurnee has to offer; excellent schools, award winning park district and library, a world-class amusement park, a variety of unique stores and citizens dedicated to making Gurnee a great place to live, work and visit.
Since the beginning, Gurnee Days has been put on by a group of citizen volunteers and the Gurnee Days Corporation, in cooperation with the Village of Gurnee and the Gurnee Park District. Visit www.gurneedays.com and become a volunteer today.
