Friendly Foot Care in Crown Point wins “Best Podiatrist” in Lake County by readers of the Post-Tribune for 2013 — their fourth year in a row. The practice’s physicians, Drs. Michael Nirenberg and Michael Lacey, say they are honored to be voted No. 1.

“We try to do our best for our patients,” Dr. Nirenberg says. “It is great to get this big pat on the back.”

Celebrating their 21st year of providing superb heel, foot and ankle care, Friendly Foot Care is dedicated to putting the needs of their patients first. “Our philosophy is to try to treat every patient as we would want to be treated,” says Dr. Nirenberg. “We pride ourselves on really getting to know our patients and addressing any special concerns they may have.”

Dr. Lacey adds, “Getting to know each patient creates a warm, caring environment and it is good medicine.”

Not only are these podiatrists known for their exemplary ‘patient service,’ the Friendly Foot Care team also uses the most advanced cutting-edge technology to treat heel, foot and ankle pain. “We use high-tech fiber optic cameras to lessen arthritis in the ankle and to alleviate heel pain,” explains Dr. Nirenberg. “We are also one of the only podiatry practices in the area to offer a pain-relieving vibration device to make needles not hurt.”

The doctors specialize in relieving pain, whether it is in the heel, foot or ankle. Often, the doctors can rid people of pain in just one visit. Patients are surprised at how quickly they are able to walk without pain. Dr. Lacey adds, “It’s great when people limp in and walk out!”
