A week of Irish song, dance and eats at Gaelic Park

The week leading up to the South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be a busy one in the south suburbs’ center of all things Irish, Chicago’s Gaelic Park in Oak Forest. The music, dancing and other Irish activities will build to a crescendo as the week nears the parade, scheduled for noon on March 10. Among the events planned at Gaelic Park include:
The Carraig Irish Pub: Starting on stage at 7:30 p.m., The Irish Music Sessions with Pat Finnegan & Friends.
Emerald Room: Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Hot food buffet served. Emcee is Martin Fahey and music is by The Irish Musicians and Sean O’Donnell. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the Garrity Music School. Starting at 7 p.m., Trinity Irish Dancers. Starting at 7:30 p.m., Lavin Cassidy School of Irish Dancing.
The Carraig Irish Pub: Starting on stage at 9 p.m., Sean & Charlie. Pub food served from 5 to 10 p.m.
The Carraig Irish Pub: Starting on stage at 4 p.m., Larry Nugent & Friends. On stage at 8 p.m., Coyote Riot. Pub food served from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Tara Room: Head shaving will begin at 3 p.m. for those looking to raise funds for St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fight children’s cancer.
Doors open at 1 p.m. Four stages of continuous entertainment. A hot food buffet in The Tara Room begins at 1 p.m. Admission is $5 for those over the age of 12, $3 for kids 12 and under.
The Tara Room: On stage at 1 p.m. is Mulligan Stew. On stage at 5 p.m. is 3 Men in Kilts.
The Carraig Irish Pub: On stage at 1 p.m. is John Dillon. On stage at 5:30 p.m. is Billy O’Donoghue.
The Celtic Room (children’s stage): On stage at 1:30 p.m. is Dublin Deceptions Magic Show. On stage at 3:30 p.m. is A Bit “O” the Magic. On stage at 5 p.m. is Shamrock Shenanigans Magic Show.
