Fox Valley Park District offers two water parks and cool deals

The Fox Valley Park District takes summer fun seriously — and that’s no joke.

For starters, the FVPD operates not one, but two water parks. Splash Country Water Park (195 S. Barnes Road) and Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center (828 Montgomery Road) offer wet and wild fun at a nice price, making these water parks an exciting and affordable choice for families to enjoy summer.

Better yet, season passes are interchangeable at both water parks — visit them as much as you like all summer long! And on Fridays, season pass holders have both water parks all to themselves for an hour before they open to the public.

Splash Country features two crazy-fun, winding slides — one open and twisty; the other a looping, enclosed tunnel of green. A zero-depth pool offers easy entry.

On the famous Lazy River, guests float freely on large tubes beneath water-dumping buckets, sprayers, jets and over bubbling rapids. Flowing 1,100 feet, it’s the second longest attraction of its kind in Illinois.

Phillips Park offers five different water slides, including a pair of drop slides that fall 8 and 12 feet, respectively, into cool blue waters below. Kids describe the feeling as “falling without a parachute.” Only nine such drop slides exist in the country.

Both water parks have plenty to do for the little ones who aren’t quite tall enough for the slides, with large, interactive play areas with spray guns and waterfalls.

With water parks like these, the kids are sure to have one cool summer.
